Resisting arrest charge: James Erik Skidmore, 38, of 24 Kadon Drive, North Franklin Township, was charged by state police with two counts of resisting arrest, driving under the influence, disorderly conduct and two traffic summary violations following a traffic stop early Sunday morning on Sheffield Street. Police said Skidmore told them he had consumed several alcoholic beverages, before stumbling out of his vehicle. Police said Skidmore had trouble standing on his own. Police said Skidmore clenched his fists, pushed an officer and tensed his body, so police had trouble arresting him. Police said Skidmore refused to submit to a blood test.
ROSTRAVER
Man jailed: Daniel Edward Robison, 35, of 132 Manown Lane, Rostraver Township, is charged by local police with strangulation, making terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, court records show. Police accuse Robison of choking and threatening to kill Melanie Rice after she told him she was moving to a shelter about 9:40 a.m. Friday in their residence. Robison was placed in Westmoreland County jail on $50,000 bond.

Resisting arrest charge: Chad Michael Gurdish, 20, of 262 McIlvaine Road, Bentleyville, was charged by state police with resisting arrest, driving under the influence, disorderly conduct and five traffic summary violations following a traffic stop in a construction zone on Interstate 70 early Sunday morning. Police said Gurdish was going 70 mph in a 45-mph zone about 4:20 a.m. When police pulled him over, he smelled of alcohol, they said. Police said Gurdish refused a field-sobriety test and struggled with police when they tried to arrest him. Police said Gurdish’s blood-alcohol content was 0.209 percent.

Assault charge: Brin H. Mooney, 18, of 1721 Byard Ave., West Mifflin, was charged by Monongahela police with simple assault after she allegedly gave a man a bloody lip and left a bite mark on his arm Saturday afternoon at a residence in the 100 block of Coal Bluff Road.
