Cal U. names enrollment VP, schedules GACO seminar
It’s all happening at Cal U . . .
Thomas “Dave” Garcia has assumed his new duties as vice president and leader of the newly formed Office of Enrollment Management at California University of Pennsylvania.
Garcia began work Monday in the new division, which was formed in a reorganization of existing staff. It is made up of the offices of Admissions; Financial Aid; Student Success; and Career and Professional Development, plus the Welcome Center and Student Orientation. Its objective is to coordinate strategic enrollment and student success efforts.
Garcia previously worked at Kent State University, where he instituted plans that led to 10 consecutive years of enrollment growth.
GACO seminar
The Government Agency Coordination Office (GACO) at California University of Pennsylvania is sponsoring the seminar, “Understanding the Basics of SBIR/STTR Research Grants.” It is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon March 20 at CoLab18 at Nova Place, Pittsburgh.
This seminar will focus on showing small businesses the benefits of the federal government’s SBIR/STTR program. Topics will include: an overview of SBIR/STTR funding; participating federal agencies; pre-proposal steps; proposal development tips; parts of the proposal; relationship building and resources.
