Stabbing at North Belle Vernon bar leaves three injured
North Belle Vernon Police and Westmoreland County detectives are investigating a stabbing incident at a bar that left three people injured.
North Belle Vernon police Chief Eugene Lapari said officers were dispatched to Just A Tavern on Broad Avenue about 1:30 a.m. Thursday for a report of a fight and stabbing.
“We determined an altercation occurred inside the bar and three people were stabbed with a knife,” Lapari said, identifying the injured as two men and one woman.
Lapari said one of the men and the woman were transported by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment for their injuries.
The other man left the bar and walked to a local hotel in Rostraver Township, where he called 911 and was then transported by ambulance to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, according to police.
The woman’s injuries were initially classified as life-threatening, Lapari said. As of Thursday afternoon, he said he had not received any updates on any of the victims’ conditions.
Police did not release any of their names.
Lapari said authorities are trying to find surveillance video from the bar and from video cameras along Broad Avenue.
As of early Thursday afternoon, police did not have a suspect.
