Multiple departments responded to a fire that destroyed a Franklin Township house Sunday afternoon.

When Waynesburg-Franklin firefighters arrived at the scene at 210 Byard Road, they found the house engulfed in flames, department officials said.

It was not immediately known if the house was occupied at the time of the fire or if anyone was injured in the blaze.

The department was assisted by six other fire departments in Greene and Washington counties. Firefighters from Jefferson, Center and Morris in Greene County assisted, along with Amwell Township, Lone Pine and South Strabane in Washington County.
