Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle accident on Bebout Road at Boyer Road in Peters Township Tuesday afternoon.

The vehicles were involved in a head-on collision at 2:22 p.m., according to a Washington County 911 supervisor.

Two helicopters were called to the scene to transport the injured drivers to area hospitals. The identities of the drivers and the nature of their injuries were not immediately released.

Traffic was detoured onto nearby roads. Authorities at the scene declined to comment on the crash.
