Walsh to host AARP Smart Driver courses
State Rep. Justin Walsh, R-Rostraver Township, will host AARP Smart Driver courses during April.
The first session for those who have already taken the eight-hour driver safety course will be offered April 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Turkeytown Fire Hall, 90 Supervisor Drive, West Newton. This one-day refresher course is only needed once every three years.
The second session, the two-day program for first-time participants, will be offered on April 11 and 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Turkeytown Fire Hall.
A safe driving instructor will discuss a variety of topics, including communicating with other drivers, risk management, airbags, sharing the road, road signs, signals and pavement markings. The cost is $15 per attendee for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers.
RSVPs are required. For more information, call Walsh’s district office at 724-929-2655.
