ATI gets $45M contract for South American project

Allegheny Technologies Inc. has been selected to supply the nickel-based flat rolled products for a large oil pipeline project in South America, the company announced in a news release Thursday.

The contract is for $45 million. Shipments are to begin in the second quarter and be completed by the end of the year.

The news release did not specify the country where the project is located.

Pittsburgh-based ATI is a global manufacturer with 1,900 local employees, including those at Allegheny Ludlum Specialty Plate Mill in Canton Township. The company employs about 8,600 overall.
