A woman allegedly was attacked and robbed by her husband and his ex-wife outside a Point Marion home Friday afternoon.

Robert Dale Cumberland Jr., 37, of Waynesbug and Belinda Joy Cumberland, 37, of Lemont Furnace are charged with robbery, strangulation and simple assault. The woman is facing an additional count of terroristic threats. State police issued warrants for their arrests Friday.

“Why can’t I kill her now? No one would know,” Belinda Cumberland was quoted as saying to her ex-husband, after they allegedly beat his wife, Ashley Cumberland.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Robert and Ashley Cumberland arrived at 10 S. Main St. in Point Marion about 12:15 p.m. Police said he knocked on the door and Belinda Cumberland came around the corner and grabbed the woman by the hair. Belinda Cumberland also pulled a lanyard from the woman’s hand, causing stitches from a recent surgery to tear. Robert and Belinda Cumberland allegedly punched the woman in the head, covered her mouth and nose to prevent her from breathing, and stole a $200 cellphone from her hand. They reportedly drove her to her parents’ house on Blaney Hollow Road after the attack.
