Two charged with leaving baby in car to burglarize Carmichaels house
A man and woman are behind bars for allegedly leaving a woman’s baby in a car while breaking into the mother’s house.
Colby Brown, 21, and his aunt Lori A. Guesman, 45, both of Dilliner, are charged with burglary and criminal mischief, along with summary citations.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in the case, Tia Beer allowed Brown, her ex-boyfriend, and Guesman to take her 15-month-old child to a cookout Monday night. She was planning to pick up the baby later.
Instead, Guesman, Brown and his juvenile sister arrived at Beer’s home in the Route 21 Mobile Home Park about 8:30 p.m. and entered the home by breaking a window, while leaving the baby in the car, police said. They allegedly ransacked a room of the house.
They found Beer and her boyfriend, David Gomez, in a back bedroom and allegedly threatened to hurt them, then left in the car. Brown allegedly texted Beer, “You’re lucky I didn’t kill him right there and thank God your kid was in the car, (expletive).”
Police did not indicate if the child sustained any injuries as a result of being left alone.
Brown’s bail was set at $50,000, and Guesman’s bail was set at $40,000. They remain in Greene County jail, unable to post bail.
