State police filed a criminal trespass citation Monday against a Mather woman who was found in a drainpipe at the closed Hatfields Ferry Power Station in Monongahela Township earlier this month.

Julie Marie Gipe, 39, of 57 Short St., was found in the pipe about 9:30 a.m. April 15. Firefighters from Greensboro and Carmichaels were called to the plant after someone from First Energy heard Gipe calling for help.

Rescue crews were able to get Gipe out of the drainpipe, which runs from a pond on the property to the Monongahela River. She was stuck at the end near the pond, police said.

Police still have not said how Gipe got stuck there or how long she was stuck. She was coherent at the scene, police said, and was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
