ELLSWORTH – An Ellsworth man is accused of biting off part of a man’s ear while the two were fighting Thursday in a neighbor’s backyard.

State police charged Jayson Lee Wright, 27, of 106 S. Pine St., with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment stemming from the 10:45 p.m. disturbance, court records show.

The alleged victim, Benjamin W. Burgess, told police Wright punched him in the face and pushed him to the ground while the two were arguing at 108 S. Pine St., police said in charging documents.

Burgess said Wright struck him in his head again while the two were on the ground before Wright bit off part of his left earlobe, police said.

Police said the injuries to his ear were visible.
