Rostraver couple jailed on multiple warrants, other charges

ROSTRAVER – A Rostraver Township man is accused of threatening to kill deputy sheriffs who apprehended him and his girlfriend Tuesday on multiple bench warrants.
The sheriff’s office in Westmoreland County charged Jerrad R. Perkins, 42, with making terroristic threats while the deputies were driving him to jail about 7:35 a.m. on Route 51 north at Interstate 70, court records show.
His girlfriend, Heather D. Cathers, 43, is charged with resisting arrest when the deputies went to a mobile home the couple share at 127 Dongilli Park Lane, the record states.
Perkins allegedly said “this incident would have ended differently” had he had his gun at home when the deputies arrived, the affidavit states.
“That’s a threat and I’m going to have both of your badges,” Perkins said, according to the allegations in the charging documents.
No one answered the door after the deputies arrived at the couple’s residence. One of the officers saw them through a side window and the other opted to go inside through an unlocked door.
A deputy used force to handcuff Cathers because she was uncooperative, the affidavit alleges.
Cathers is being held in Westmoreland County jail on a bench warrant for failing to appear in Washington County Court on a retail theft charge filed by Charleroi Regional police in April 2018, online court records show. She also is wanted on failure to appear on warrants in traffic court.
Perkins is wanted on a Westmoreland domestic relations warrant and failure to appear for three separate traffic citations in 2015. He also is being held in the jail in Westmoreland.
