As a chief financial officer, Tony Dodds already had a formidable share of responsibility at Fairmont Supply Co. Now he has more.

Dodds has been promoted to president/CFO, the Washington-based company announced Tuesday morning. He succeeds Paul Fichiera as president.

Fairmont Supply, a leading provider of industrial maintenance, repair and operating supplies, has been in existence for 98 years. The firm has more than 400 employees in 27 locations. A workforce of 80-plus operates at corporate headquarters off Jefferson Avenue in the city.

Dodds has been Fairmont Supply’s CFO for the past three years. He is a Pittsburgh native who previously was vice president of finance and controller at Ness Technologies, and before that served in various management roles at H.J. Heinz Co.

He is a certified public accountant who has an executive master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s in taxation from Robert Morris University.

At a Washington County Chamber of Commerce breakfast briefing in February, Fichiera described Fairmont Supply as a full-line industrial distributor that sells “well over a million product skews. Actually, we sell an infinite number of product skews. One day, I was looking at the shelves and saw we have everything from mining bits to hot chocolate.”

He referred to Fairmont as “a sales, marketing and service sales business” that is regarded as a top 50 industrial and tools distributor.
