Pittsburgh police lead more than 100 friends and colleagues from the Washington County Courthouse to Immaculate Conception Church in Washington for the funeral of former district attorney Gene Vittone. The processional began shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday.

More than 50 local and regional departments, including the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Department, participated in the service.

Friends and colleagues gathered at Washington County Courthouse to honor former Washington County District Attorney Gene Vittone. The crowd, led by Pittsburgh police, marched from the courthouse to Immaculate Conception Church for the burial before interment at Monongahela Cemetery.

Friends and colleagues of Gene Vittone gathered in downtown Washington Thursday morning to pay their final respects to Washington County’s district attorney, who died Saturday at the age of 61. Workers from the Court of Common Pleas and members of the Washington County Bar Association lined up outside the courthouse at 9 a.m. for a processional to Immaculate Conception Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial followed at 10. Interment followed in Monongahela Cemetery.
