A Brownsville Borough resident died in a two-vehicle accident early Friday in Westmoreland County.

Ian C. Praster Sr., 32, of Lockhart Street was driving a tractor-trailer traveling west on Route 22 in Salem Township when his vehicle struck the rear of a tri-axle dump truck at 6:59 a.m., according to Kenneth Bacha, county coroner.

Deputy coroner Sean Hribal pronounced Praster dead at the scene. An autopsy was performed by Dr. Cyril Wecht and Pathology Associates, finding the manner of death as blunt force trauma of the thorax. Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks, according to the coroner’s office.

Lantz Funeral Home of Uniontown will be in charge of arrangements.

Pennsylvania State Police Kiski Barracks also investigated.
