Crash closes I-79 flyover ramp
The flyover ramp on Interstate 79 in South Strabane Township was closed for more than two hours Monday following a multi-vehicle crash that sent at least three people to the hospital.
The three-vehicle crashed happened shortly after 10 a.m. in the northbound lanes at the south junction with Interstate 70, a Washington County 911 dispatch supervisor said.
Two people were taken by ambulance to an area hospital and one person was flown by medical helicopter for treatment, the dispatcher said. The identities and conditions of the injured people were not immediately released.
Traffic was diverted to the eastbound lanes of I-70 while the flyover ramp was closed. It reopened to traffic about 12:30 p.m.
