Woman killed in train collision identified
A Go Fund Me account has been set up by the family of the woman killed Saturday afternoon when her car was struck by a train hauling coal in Monongahela.
Jaimyn Rauchfuss died when her car was struck by the train at the Fourth Street cross near the Noble J. Dick Aquatorium, according to Washington County Coroner Tim Warco.
Rauchfuss, 22, of VanVoorhis, was pronounced dead at the scene following the 2:15 p.m. crash. The cause and manner of her death were not immediately released.
Her family started a Go Fund Me page to help with funeral expenses. By Monday afternoon, the account had nearly raised its goal of $6,000. The account can be found at www.gofundme.com/f/final-expenses-for-jaimyn-rauchfuss.
Monongahela police referred all questions about the accident to Norfolk Southern, which did not respond to a phone message seeking comment Monday.
