Julianna Fiori threw on some layers and hit the Montour Trail Friday morning for a peaceful run along the snow-covered trail. Fiori, a 2021 Upper Saint Clair graduate who runs for The College of Wooster in Ohio, said she got new shoes Thursday and wanted to try them out – and no amount of snow was going to stop her from breaking in the new kicks.

Cecil Township reminds drivers to Drive Safely on the community’s billboard Friday, after more than an inch of snow fell overnight and made morning commutes dicey just before the weekend. The township’s salt trucks and plows treated roads from the first signs of snowfall Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.

Area residents celebrated the first snowfall of winter Friday shoveling sidewalks and reveling in the winter wonderland.
