Last week, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department arrested nine people while serving arrest warrants.
Officers began serving the warrants countywide early June 25. Police also seized nearly $2,000, two shotguns, fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a press release.
One person arrested was William Curtis Kennedy, 38, of Waynesburg. According to the release, Kennedy fled into the crawlspace of an upstairs apartment before falling through the ceiling.
He then ran through a basement into a connected apartment complex and fled into a ceiling. Again, he came crashing through the ceiling and was arrested after a brief struggle, according to the release.
Kennedy was transported to Washington Health System Greene for treatment.
The sheriff’s department charged Kennedy with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, resisting arrest, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
District Judge David Balint sent him to the Greene County Prison on $20,000 bond.
The sheriff’s department was assisted by state police, Cumberland Township police and Greene County Regional Police.
