A Bentworth High School graduate heads a company that towers above most of the competition.
Ron G. Bizick II is the chief operating officer and president of Vertical Bridge, the largest private owner and operator of communications infrastructure in the United States, according to a company news release. He was hired by the Boca Raton-based company in late February.
Bizick will work alongside Alex Gellman, co-founder and CEO, and other members of the senior leadership team. Vertical Bridge supports customers and their infrastructure buildout of 5G and emerging technologies.
Gellman said in a statement: “Ron is a superb addition to our team of industry veterans. His prior accomplishments in C-level positions in our industry – both in entrepreneurial and large public corporations – make Ron the ideal candidate for filling this newly created role at Vertical Bridge.”
Bizick is pleased to be on hand. He said: “The Vertical Bridge team is world class. Joining a company like Vertical Bridge, with its customer-centric and long-term view of the industry, is a perfect fit.”
A former Eighty Four resident, Bizick is a 33-year veteran in the wireless communications industry. He previously worked at Tarpon Towers LLC, which he co-founded in 2008. For 14 years, Bizick was chief executive officer at at that firm, which develops, acquires and manages wireless communication sites throughout the nation.
Before that, he was executive vice president and COO of Global Signal Inc., a former New York Stock Exchange-listed company. While he was there, Global Signal completed a successful initial public offering and tripled its portfolio from 3,500 to 11,000-plus owned and managed communication sites.
Bizick also previously was executive vice president and COO of SBA Communications, a NASDAQ company that he helped transform from a start-up.
Vertical Bridge REIT, LLC has a portfolio of more than 318,000 sites in 50 states and Puerto Rico. That portfolio features towers, rooftops, billboards, utility attachments, convenience stores and other locations that support wireless network deployments. Vertical Bridge also offers build-to-suit, edge data centers and in-building wireless network solutions.
Vertical Bridge, founded in 2014, said it was the first tower company in the world to reach net-zero emissions and received CarbonNeutral certification in 2020.
