A Donora man faces multiple charges in connection with the break-in of a Connellsville home Monday morning.

Marcus Allen Hughes, 40, is charged by Connellsville police with felonies of burglary, criminal trespass, terroristic threats, and misdemeanors of loitering, simple assault and disorderly conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the 200 block of East Fairview Avenue shortly after midnight. Julie Thomas said that Hughes broke into the back door and began arguing with her.

Police said Hughes assaulted Jamel Miles when he attempted to intervene. Hughes went outside and threw rocks at Miles’ car, court documents state.

After Hughes was taken into custody, Hughes allegedly told officers he intended to go back to the house and harm Thomas and Miles, the complaint states.

District Judge Richard Kasunic sent Hughes to the Fayette County jail on $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 20.
