Monessen man sentenced for selling drugs

A Monessen man was sentenced to 63 months of prison in federal court Thursday, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.

According to the DOJ, Douglas Smith, 41, obtained more than three kilograms of cocaine from a Chicago supplier and then redistributed the drugs.

Smith was sentenced at the federal courthouse in Pittsburgh. His sentence also includes four years of supervised release following his incarceration.
