State police charged a Greene County man Tuesday with several felonies related to the possession of child pornography.

Gregory Alan Evans, 48, of Perry Township, is accused in court documents of uploading three files containing the illicit material to a messaging app.

Kik, the app Evans’ is accused of using, reported the images in June 2022.

Investigators were able to trace the account to Evans’ home in the 100 block of Edwards Avenue, and served a search warrant there the morning of Feb. 2, court documents state.

In an interview with police at his home, Evans denied looking at child pornography and initially denied having a Kik account.

Police said there were nine images or videos of the material found on Evans’ devices.

He was arraigned Tuesday afternoon before District Judge David Balint, who released him on $100,000 unsecured bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Oct. 24.
