Canton Township man accused of molesting two children
A Canton Township man is accused of molesting and raping two pre-teen children over several years.
State police charged 80-year-old Victor Charles Ardeno Sr. on Monday with two counts each of child rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault and corruption of minors in two separate cases involving a boy and girl.
Police said they were first notified of the alleged sexual abuse in March 2021 when a girl came forward to claim she was molested at Ardeno’s Bel Aire Drive apartment on multiple occasions from 2012 until 2018 beginning when she was 5, according to court documents. It’s not known why charges were not filed in 2021, but the case was reopened this February when a different trooper took over the investigation.
Meanwhile, a boy came forward in July to tell state police that Ardeno sexually assaulted him in 2020 when he was 11.
No attorney was listed for Ardeno in online court documents, and it was unclear whether he had been arraigned on the charges as of Tuesday, which were filed at District Judge James Saieva Jr.’s office in Canonsburg.
