Earlier this month, a Trinity High School graduate and FFA member donated more than $16,000 to the Mrs. Claus Club of Bentleyville. On Oct. 16, Courtney Dahlquist, of Washington, donated all proceeds from the sale of her grand champion market rabbit pen, which was purchased by The Chapman Corporation at the Washington County Fair. When the company learned the proceeds would benefit the club, other businesses and families made additional donations. Additional contributions came from the CNX Foundation, Hufnagel Excavating, Rosscapes Inc. and the Barnyard Petting Zoo, and from the Laird, Clutter, Danley, Barnes, Hrutkay, Snee, Bosanac, Ross and Putnak families. The Mrs. Claus Club of Bentleyville is a volunteer organization focused on bettering the lives of local cancer patients. The club’s annual gala is scheduled for Nov. 11.
