Mon Valley Academy for the Arts’ Fife and Drum Corps played patriotic music during the 9/11 ceremony at Brownsville Area High School. The program was sponsored by the Brownsville Area Military Honor Roll Committee.

A solemn recognition was held in Brownsville to mark the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Monday’s ceremony was part of an exhibit set up at Brownsville Area High School that included the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall and a 9/11 memorial wall. The Vietnam wall included the names of local military personnel who were killed in the war, while the 9/11 wall listed the names of those who died in the attacks

Both walls were transported to the high school on Friday, and were open to the public over the weekend and Monday. A closing ceremony is slated for at 10 a.m. today, during which members of the borough’s Brownsville Area Military Honor Roll Committee will present wreaths to the families of local soldiers who died during the Vietnam War.
