The NAACP Washington Branch will hold a general meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at 68 Highland Ave., Washington. The meeting will be preceded by the NAACP’s monthly Community Education Workshop.

The Community Education Workshop session will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be led by Tonami Jones, Outreach Coordinator for CASA Washington (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children and Youth) to provide insight on how volunteers can work on behalf of young people in the CYS system, and Kamerane Gatlin, Senior Director and Regional Manager with LegalShield.

The monthly Community Education Workshops are part of a new initiative of President David T. Gatling Sr. to provide the public with information on critical community needs and issues.

New members and donations are welcome.
