The United Way of Washington County will host its first-ever Power of the Purse, a designer purse raffle March 10 at the Washington Elks Lodge to raise funds for the nonprofit’s Community Impact Fund.

The Community Impact Fund supports programming for women and children in Washington County, with a focus on programs that emphasize education, financial stability, health, food insecurity, veterans needs and supplemental needs.

“We are grateful for the commitment of our community to support our efforts to raise funds for local women and children programs,” P. Ann Hrabik, executive director of the United Way of Washington County, said in a news release. “Only with our community’s partnership of our fundraising supporters, our Workplace Giving Campaign partners, our Impact Circle members and individual donors, are we able to support programs to benefit those in need in Washington County.”

The Power of the Purse kicks off at 1 p.m. and attendees will have 25 opportunities to win designer handbags and other prizes while enjoying lunch and dessert. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased online.

The event is hosted jointly by the United Way of Washington County and Present Magnificent Madame Sponsor, Equitrans Midstream Corp. The United Way is still accepting additional sponsors, vendors and raffle donations.
