Healing Bridges has received a grant to expand its programming, the Washington County nonprofit announced last week.

The Edith L. Trees Charitable Trust awarded Healing Bridges $105,929 to implement a training and mentorship program that supports those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism (IDD/A).

“This funding opportunity will uniquely position the Healing Bridges supports coordination program to create longer lasting and more effective relationships with individuals,” Natalie Ross, CEO of Healing Bridges, said in a news release.

Healing Bridges currently serves 458 individuals and 45 children with IDD/A diagnoses in Washington County. The grant will allow the nonprofit to expand its reach locally and provide ongoing support to those who help consumers live meaningful, self-sufficient lives by funding additional staff, including one new IDD/A training specialist and a support coordinator, and two new mentor stipends.
