Firefighters spent the early morning hours on Sunday battling a fire on Third Street in Donora.

Several fire departments spent more than three hours fighting a fire in an abandoned building Sunday morning in Donora.

According to a Facebook post from the Donora Fire Company, emergency crews were called to 314 Third St. at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday.

Firefighters arrived within a minute of being dispatched, but the fire had already burned through the roof and spread to an adjoining house, according to the fire department.

When contacted via Facebook for additional information, Donora Fire Company responded with a message stating that Chief Patsy Vince “doesn’t speak with the media.”

A Washington County 911 supervisor confirmed the home was abandoned, and said no injuries were reported.

According to 911, firefighters cleared the scene at about 4:45 a.m.

Fire departments from Donora, Carroll Township, Bentleyville, Charleroi and Rostraver also responded as well as Donora police.

The state police fire marshal is investigating.
