Empty Bowls raises awareness for hunger

Many gathered Sunday to raise money for the Fayette County Community Action Food Bank through Empty Bowls.

The annual event serves a meager meal of soup and bread, a reminder that there are others in the community who struggle to put food on the table.

The soup, donated by area restaurants, was served in ceramic bowls donated by a number of area organizations or schools.
