Avella man killed in single-vehicle accident

An Avella man was killed Wednesday night after losing control of his vehicle.
Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco identified the victim as Cody Hukill, 29.
According to Warco, the accident occurred at about 7:12 p.m. while Hukill was driving east on State Route 50 and struck a tree in the 2000 block.
Hukill was declared dead at the scene at 8:30 p.m. A cause and manner of death are pending further investigation. According to Warco, he was not wearing a seat belt.
State police are investigating.
