Avella man killed in single-vehicle accident

An Avella man was killed Friday morning after he crashed his vehicle.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco issued a report identifying the driver as Anthony G. Georgetti, 21.
According to Warco, the crash occurred at about 3:15 a.m. while Georgetti was driving west on State Route 844 in Independence Township. He lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree in the 700 block of Route 844.
Georgetti was declared dead at the scene about 4:45 a.m. He was not wearing a seat belt.
State police are investigating. Also responding to the scene of the crash were fire departments from Avella and West Middletown, and Ambulance and Chair.
