Area school boards hold reorganization meetings

School boards in Fayette and Greene counties held reorganization meetings recently. Among them were:
Fayette County
Albert Gallatin – President is Ryan Porupski; Newly elected members are Dan Janesko and Jeff Myers; reelected members are Betty Moser, Carl Planiczka and Dave Howard.
Work sessions are held at 6 p.m. on the third Monday of each month, and voting meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the third Wednesday. However, in January the work session will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, with the regular meeting scheduled for the next night. All meetings are held at D. Ferd Swaney School cafeteria, 1152 Township Drive, Uniontown.
Belle Vernon – President is Stacey Livengood; newly elected member is Josh Pollock; reelected members are Rob Harhai, Janis Niemiec, Stephanie Quinn and Livengood. Appointed to the board is Jason Gross.
Meetings are held in the Leopard Hall board room. Work sessions begin at 6 p.m. Regular meetings begin at 7 p.m.
Work session meetings are scheduled for Jan. 16, Feb. 20, March 19, April 16, May 14, June 18, Aug. 20, Sept. 17 and Oct. 15. Regular meetings are scheduled for Jan. 22, Feb. 20, March 25, April 22, May 20, June 24, Aug. 26, Sept. 23 and Oct. 21. Combined work sessions/regular meetings are scheduled for July 16, Nov. 19 and Dec. 3.
Connellsville – President is Dave Panzella; newly elected members are Jon Detwiler and Cecilia Driscoll; reelected members are Paul Harshman, Daniel Martucci and Marci Sangston.
All meetings are held at 7 p.m. in the Connellsville Area Senior High School auditorium, 201 Falcon Drive. Work sessions are scheduled for Feb. 26, March 25, April 22, May 20, June 24, July 22, Aug. 19, Sept. 23, Oct. 21 and Nov. 18. Voting meetings are set for Jan. 17, Feb. 28, March 27, April 24, May 22, June 26, July 24, Aug. 21, Sept. 25, Oct. 23, Nov. 20 and Dec. 4.
Frazier – President is Stacey Erdely, and vice president is Rick Adams. Work sessions will be held at 6 p.m. followed by the regular monthly voting meetings on the following Mondays: Jan.8, Feb. 12, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, and Dec. 5 in the administrative office boardroom at Frazier School District, 142 Constitution St., Perryopolis.
Laurel Highlands – New directors are Marcus DiNunno, Olivia Conway, and Bill Elias; reelected board members are Joe D’Andrea and Ken Meadows. President is Joe D’Andrea, and vice president is Edward Kolencik.
Meetings will be held at 6 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month, unless otherwise specified, in the high school library, 300 Bailey Ave., Uniontown.
Southmoreland – Reelected director is Dr. Catherine Fike and newly elected board members are Samuel Accipiter, John Eutsey, Richard Grabiak, and Scott Olsen. President is Duane Frund, and vice president is Stephanie Geyer. Voting meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Southmoreland Middle School Cafeteria, 200 Scottie Way, Scottdale, on Jan. 16, Feb. 20, March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18, July 24, Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19 and Dec. 4.
Uniontown – New director is Adam Hull. Susan Clay is president, and Terry Dawson, vice president. Meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the band room at Uniontown High School, 146 E. Fayette St., Uniontown, on Jan. 16, Feb. 5, March 4, April 8, May 6, June 17, Aug. 5, Sept. 3, Oct. 7, and Nov. 4.
Greene County
Carmichaels Area – New or reelected members are Albert Buchtan, Jami Krull, Lewis May, John Menhart, Jackie Shuppe, and Brian Sokol. School board meeting dates for 2024 will be approved at the board’s Jan. 18 meeting.
Central Greene swore in new or reelected board members Lanfer Simpson, Erin Blanchard, Chay Lahew, and James Howard. The board elected James Howard as president and Wayne Knisely, vice president.
Regular meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of the month (Jan. 16, March 19, April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16, Aug. 20, Sept. 17, Oct. 15, and Nov. 19) in the boardroom at 250 S. Cumberland St., Waynesburg, at 6:30 p.m., except for the February meeting, which will be held Feb. 13. The reorganization meeting is scheduled for Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.
Jefferson-Morgan new or reelected members are Heidi Jamison and Jeffrey Brink. The board elected Jason Beal as president and Robert Mitchell, vice president. Meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the third Monday of the month – Jan. 15, Feb. 19, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, and Dec. 16.
Southeastern Greene new or reelected directors are Mark Messich, Courtney Smiley, Kristafer Adkins, Marvin Carter. The board elected Andrew Vanata as president and Kristafer Adkins, vice president.
Meetings will be held at the Mapletown Junior/Senior High School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: Jan. 15, Feb. 26, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18, and Dec. 3.
West Greene New and re-elected board members are Crystal Frye, Randall Kennedy, Marie Gillespie, Chad Scott, along with appointed directors Angie VanDyne and Betty Jo Black. One seat for Region 2 remains vacant, and a school board director will be named at an upcoming meeting. The board elected Dave Durbin as president and Ryan Crouse, vice president.
Meetings are at 7 p.m. in the school district board room on Jan. 25, Feb. 22, March 21, April 25, May 23, June 27, July 25, Aug. 22, Sept. 26, Oct. 24, Nov. 21, and Dec. 5 (at 6 p.m.).
