A Dunkard Township charged with criminal homicide for selling fentanyl-laced heroin to a Greensboro man was arrested Thursday.

Roy Allen Keener, 44, was apprehended in Cumberland Township following a search that unfolded over “many hours,” according to a Facebook post from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. Keener was taken into custody after trying to hide inside a vehicle in the Dilliner area, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Cumberland Township Police Department, Pennsylvania Game Commission and Pennsylvania State constables joined the sheriff’s office in the search for Keener.

Keener is being held in Greene County Prison without bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Lee Watson.

Keener’s arrest came one day after charges of criminal homicide and drug delivery resulting in death were filed against him.

He is accused of selling fentanyl-laced heroin to Nicholas Michael Palmer, 26, of Greensboro, on Sept. 1, the day Palmer was found dead in his home. An autopsy confirmed Palmer died of acute fentanyl intoxication, and Keener confessed to police Sept. 4 that he had sold Palmer heroin, according to the criminal complaint.
