Municipal boards reorganize

Municipal government boards in Washington and Greene counties recently held reorganization meetings. Among them were:

Washington County

Burgettstown: President, Kim McKinney, vice president, Pam Church; reelected/new council members, Pam Church, Gary Manges and James Smith II. Board appointed Beth Hoppe to fill a two-year term. Meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Monday of every month at the borough building at 1509 Main St., with the exception of the Sept. 2 meeting, which will be held Sept. 9.

California: President, Patsy Alfano; re-elected members, Phil Difilippo, James Maddiex and Tony Mariscotti. Meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the first and second Thursday of each month at the borough building at 225 Third St.

Canonsburg: Mayor is Dave Rhome. President, Richard Russo; vice president Edward Yorke Jr. New members: Diane Richie and Edward Yorke Jr. Meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the first and second Monday of each month at the borough building at 68 E. Pike St., Canonsburg.

Charleroi: President, Kristin Hopkins-Calcek; new council members, Hopkins-Calcek, Tom Santoro and Robert Whiten Jr.; reelected member, Jerry Jericho. Council will meet at 6 p.m. the first and second Wednesday of each month at the borough building at 338 Fallowfield Ave.

Donora: President, Cindy Brice; new council members, Jim Brice, DeAnne Pavelko and Casey Perrotta. Council will meet at 6 p.m. the first and second Thursday of each month at the borough building at 603 Meldon Ave.

Monessen: New councilwoman, Karen Cosner; re-elected, Lois Thomas. Meetings will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, with the exception of November and December, at City Hall at 575 Donner Ave.

Monongahela: New councilman, Roy Sarver; reelected, Daryl Miller and Mark Gadd. Reelected as mayor, Greg Garry. Work sessions are held at 8:30 a.m. on the Monday prior to the council meeting on the second Wednesday of each month in Council Chambers at 449 West Main St.

North Strabane: Chairman, Neil Kelly, vice chairman, Emily Holmes; new or reelected supervisors, Neil Kelly and Harold Close. The board will meet at 7 p.m. on the third and fourth Tuesday of each month in the municipal building, 1929 Route 519, Canonsburg.

Peters Township: Chairman, Tom Pirosko; reelected, Frank Kosir Jr. and Robert Lewis. Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the municipal building at 610 E. McMurray Road.

South Strabane: Chairman, Bob Weber; new supervisors, Jeff Bull and George Rowand. The board will meet at 6 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of every month at the municipal building at 550 Washington Road.

Greene County

Carmichaels: Jeff Hathaway was reelected as mayor. Mark Hanley is council president, with Ralph Ewart as vice president and Joyce Fortney, president pro tempore. New or reelected members were David Antonini, Susan Samek and Ralph Ewart. Meetings will be held at 5 p.m. at the Carmichaels Borough Building, 100 W. George St., Carmichaels, on Feb. 14, March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, Aug. 14, Sept. 11, Oct. 9, Nov. 13, Dec. 11.

Franklin Township: William Walker was re-elected. Corbly Orndoff is chairman, and Todd Hoy is vice chairman. Meetings will be held at 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month at the administration building, 568 Rolling Meadows Road, Waynesburg.

Waynesburg: Mayor is Lynn Bussey; president, Ben Humble, vice president, William Harding. New or reelected council members are Eleanor Chapman, Sherri Lemley, and Miles Davin. Meetings will be held at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of every month at borough council chambers at 90 E. High St., Waynesburg.
