Canonsburg man accused of sexual assault of student

A Canonsburg man was arrested Friday by Mt. Lebanon police after accusations he sexually assaulted a student while working as a substitute teacher.

Damon Michael Gall, 24, faces a felony charge for institutional sexual assault, and misdemeanors of corruption of minors and indecent assault.

According to court records, the incident occurred in December at Seton LaSalle High School. The student reported it to a school counselor on Tuesday, court documents state.

Gall is accused of assaulting the 15-year-old in his classroom.

According to the criminal complaint, when police interviewed Gall Thursday, he admitted to the events described by the teen.

Gall was arraigned Friday afternoon before District Judge Hilary K. Wheatley, who sent him to the Allegheny County Prison without bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 7.
