Washington police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a Monday morning bank robbery.

Detective Jordan Faust said police were called to Washington Financial Bank at 98 E. Wylie Ave. at about 9:40 a.m.

A man wearing a medical mask and a hooded sweatshirt handed a bank teller a threatening note demanding money.

“If she didn’t comply, then nobody inside was going to get out,” Faust said of the note’s contents.

According to Faust, the teller handed the man a couple hundred dollars from her drawer.

“Apparently it wasn’t enough to his liking. He had her open her drawer, and there was nothing more there,” Faust said.

The man did not display any weapons during the robbery.

Washington police ask that anyone with information call 724-223-4226, or message the department’s Facebook page.
