After discovering last year that there was a lot of unclaimed property in Greene County, county commissioners and the Greene County Chamber of Commerce teamed up to host a Pennsylvania Department of Treasury Unclaimed Property Event, which eventually reunited $100,000 worth of property to its rightful owners.

According to Melody Longstreth, executive director of the chamber, because of how successful that program was, the county is bringing it back for two separate events: one Thursday, May 9 and one on Nov. 19. Both events will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the chambers office, 3157 Mt. Morris Road, Waynesburg.

A representative from the Department of Treasury will be on hand to assist businesses and individuals searching for unclaimed property and filing to have it returned to them.

In addition to businesses and individuals, nonprofit organizations, government agencies and community groups who believe they may have unclaimed property are also invited to attend
