Kathleen Capo

Animal shelter volunteer owned Capo Photography

Kathleen Capo, 60, of Washington, went to be with the Lord Monday, December 3, 2012, in Washington Hospital, with her children at her bedside.

She was born October 21, 1952, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Michael Sekura and Elizabeth Tullis Sekura.

Mrs. Capo worked at Sheehan’s Photo and then was self-employed at Kathy Capo Photography for 20 years.

She was a member of Lone Pine Christian Church and a former, active volunteer for Washington Area Humane Society.

Her husband, John Capo, died July 11, 2012.

Surviving are two sons, Johnny Capo (Cortney) and Christian Capo; two daughters, Melissa Capo Fahey and Kristy Haught Miklic (David); two brothers, Jack of Erie and Thomas of Washington; a sister, Betty L. of Washington; grandchildren Shawn and Ethan Fahey, Kendle Haught and Liliana Capo; and many nieces, nephews and loving family members.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 7. Linn Frank Hamilton

Fifth-generation dairy farmer

Linn Frank Hamilton, 76, formally of Western Avenue, Houston, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in Cottingham Retirement Community, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mr. Hamilton was born May 28, 1936, in Washington, a son of the late James Taggart and Jeanette Cummings Hamilton.

On April 26, 1965, he married Louise Ann Lemme, who preceded him in death June 1, 2003.

Mr. Hamilton was a fifth-generation dairy farmer and, for 20 years, he operated the family dairy farm located in Washington County. He was passionate about the plight of the local dairy farmer. Before taking over the family farm, he managed the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Office in Crawford County from 1968 to 1980. In 2009, he retired from Quest Diagnostic, where he had been employed as a medical courier.

He graduated from Washington & Jefferson College, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in liberal arts. He furthered his education by earning a master’s degree in political science from Edinboro University. An arts enthusiast, he was an avid poet and loved Mozart and playing the piano.

Mr. Hamilton is survived by a daughter, Lisa M. Whitehouse and husband Richard of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a son, James D. Hamilton and wife Katherine of Cincinnati; and a granddaughter, Eleanor Hamilton.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Louise, of 38 years, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ben and David Hamilton.

Family and friends are invited from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in Stephen P. Lois Kinnan Kildow

Member of Washington Alliance Church

Lois Kinnan Kildow, 77, of Washington, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in Humbert Lane Health Care Centre, South Strabane Township.

She was born December 27, 1935, in Washington County, a daughter of James A. and Almeda Grimm Kinnan.

Mrs. Kildow was a 1953 graduate of Washington High School and worked as an administrative assistant for Bell Telephone for 25 years.

She was a member of Washington Alliance Church in Washington and Martha Ministry at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Largo, Fla.

Mrs. Kildow enjoyed cooking and working word puzzles.

On December 31, 1976, she married Thomas H. Kildow, who died September 4, 2008.

Surviving are two brothers, William Kinnan of Indiana and Robert Kinnan of Washington.

Deceased is a brother, James Kinnan.

Jerome Pompei, 88, of Finleyville, died Tuesday morning, December 4, 2012, in Standish’s Assisted Living, Amwell Township.

Joseph Thomas Poye

Worked for Washington Tool and Machine

Joseph Thomas Poye, 69, of Middletown, Md., died Monday, December 3, 2012, in Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.

He was born March 1, 1943, in Bentleyville, a son of the late Anton and Justina Shuster Poye.

Mr. Poye was a 1961 graduate of Ellsworth High School.

He formerly worked for Washington Tool and Machine as a machinist.

Mr. Poye attended St. James Church in Boonsboro, Md., and was a former member of Knights of Columbus.

On January 15, 1964, in Greensburg, he married Joyce Zilka, who survives.

Also surviving are four children, Steven A. Poye (Maria) of Washington, Joseph T. Poye (Kwang) of Bel Air, Md., Michelle Poye-Seal (Jason) of Boonsboro, Md., and Gina Lindsey (Donald) of Middletown; eight grandchildren, Kayleigh, Emily, Andrew and Lauren Poye, Dylan and Connor Seal and Hannah and Olivia Lindsey; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Rose; four sisters, Mildred Perchinsky (Stephen) of Bentleyville, Mary Striker (William) of Monessen, Joanne Stimmel of Washington and Barbara Keene of Elco; and several nieces and nephews.

Allene R. Tarasuk

Member of Carmichaels Christian Church

Allene R. Tarasuk, 82, of Carmichaels, died Monday, December 3, 2012, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.

She was born September 3, 1930, in Crescent Heights, a daughter of the late Norman and Wilda Lytle Cunningham.

Ms. Tarasuk had worked at the former Pratt Personal Care Home in Carmichaels. She lived in the Poland Mines, Dilliner and Mather areas before moving to Carmichaels.

She was a member of Carmichaels Christian Church.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are three sisters, Marjorie Whoolery, Norma Jean Swartz and Joyce June Taylor.

Mayview State Hospital retiree

Geraldine L. Skowirski Ward-Statler, 79, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 1, 2012, in her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born August 27, 1933, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late George and Helen Olshock Skowirski.

Mrs. Statler lived most of her life in Canonsburg.

She was Catholic.

Mrs. Statler retired from Mayview State Hospital.

Surviving are her loving companion for more than 40 years, Richard Donella; a son, Mark (Patty) Ward III; daughters Marsha (Fred) Tonti and Melanie (Greg) Holtz, all of Canonsburg; five grandchildren, Mark D. Ward IV, Shelby Tonti, Zachary Tonti, Jeremy (Abbey) Chambers and Tiffany Chambers; two stepgrandchildren, Andrew Chappo and April Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Kylie Chambers and Luke Chambers Fritz; a sister, Tessie Radosy; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two sisters, Adele Buncic and Lorraine Doheny.
