Geraldine L. Skowirski Ward-Statler
Geraldine L. Skowirski Ward-Statler, 79, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 1, 2012, in her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born August 27, 1933, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late George and Helen Olshock Skowirski.
Mrs. Statler lived most of her life in Canonsburg.
She was Catholic.
Mrs. Statler retired from Mayview State Hospital.
Surviving are her loving companion for more than 40 years, Richard Donella; a son, Mark (Patty) Ward III; daughters Marsha (Fred) Tonti and Melanie (Greg) Holtz, all of Canonsburg; five grandchildren, Mark D. Ward IV, Shelby Tonti, Zachary Tonti, Jeremy (Abbey) Chambers and Tiffany Chambers; two stepgrandchildren, Andrew Chappo and April Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Kylie Chambers and Luke Chambers Fritz; a sister, Tessie Radosy; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Adele Buncic and Lorraine Doheny.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 6.
