Hazel M. Yaros

Hazel M. Yaros, 83, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

She was born October 16, 1929, in Buffalo Township, a daughter of the late Elmer and Della Mae Doman Mounts.

On April 29, 1951, she married Robert E. “Bob” Yaros, who survives.

Also surviving her are her children, Robert F. “Bob” (Kathy) Yaros of Toledo, Ohio, and Steven A. (Janet) Yaros of Defiance; grandchildren Michelle (Shawn) Gray of Charlotte, N.C., Stacey (Ben) Bigelow of Toledo, Anthony (Tevie) Yaros of Butler, Ind., and Robert L. Yaros of Toledo; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry E. (Marian) Mounts of Washington; and a sister, Betty Powell of Claysville.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a daughter, Barbara Ann Yaros; brothers M. Abe Mounts and Leo Mounts; and sisters E. Irene Davidson, Ida Caldwell, Lucille Barney and an infant sister.

Mrs. Yaros was a member of St. John Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars 3360 Ladies Auxiliary.

She worked at Montgomery Ward and J.C. Penney in Pennsylvania. Upon moving to Defiance, she began a career with Defiance Hospital in the pharmacy department, before moving into the billing department, retiring in 1995.

Visitation was held in Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, followed by a Mass in St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center. Condolences may be given at www.HCSFuneralHome.com.
