Magda Lena Ward Waters
Magda Lena Ward Waters, 68, of Indiana, went home to be with the Lord Sunday December 9, 2012, in her home.
She was born April 1, 1944, in Washington, a daughter of Albert and Kizzy Dansby Ward.
Ms. Waters was a missionary of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, Indiana.
She worked at Indiana County Headstart. She also worked as a licensed practical nurse for many years.
Ms. Waters volunteered at Beacon Ridge Manor and Indian Haven nursing home, where she lead in singing praises to God and ministered to the residence.
Surviving are children Rodney Ward and wife Felicia of Columbia, Md., Ira Ward Redd and husband Kip of Indiana and Donald Ward of Johnstown; grandchildren Corey Anderson of Washington, Whitney Ward of Atlanta, Ga., Courtney, Cameron and Tiffney Ward, all of Columbia, Lindonna Ward, Janiesha Mckenzie and Donovan Ward, all of Seattle, Wash., and Tyanna Redd of Indiana; great-grandchildren Michael and Maleigh Mckenzie of Seattle; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Deceased are her parents, sister Willa Williamson and brother Joseph Ward.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Going home services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 13 at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, Indiana, with the Elder Stanford Webb Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
