Margaret J. Rodgers, 85, of South Park, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012, in Jefferson Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was born September 24, 1927, in Mercer County, a daughter of the late Sylvester and Margaret Shannon Sowers.

On April 10, 1945, she married Raymond Edward Rodgers, who died September 29, 2006.

Surviving are her two loving sons, Patrick James Rodgers of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Timothy Michael (Barbara) Rodgers of Eighty Four; granddaughter Jennifer Lynn (Jeffrey) Sasek of Venetia; and three great-grandsons, Wyatt Michael, Ethan Tyler and Travis Alexzander Sasek.

In addition to her parents and husband, deceased are brothers Sylvester and George and sister Betty.

She retired from Bethel Park School District after many years.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 13, in the chapel. Entombment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park.
