Ruth DeEtta Riggle Daugherty
Ruth DeEtta Riggle Daugherty, 91, of Jefferson, died Saturday, December 8, 2012, in her home.
She was born February 9, 1921, in Jefferson, a daughter of the late Belle Riggle and Jesse Kent.
Mrs. Daugherty was raised by Belle and her husband, Marvin Riggle.
Mrs. Daugherty lived all of her life in Jefferson and had worked at one time in the housekeeping department for Waynesburg College.
She was a loving mother and housewife. She enjoyed retirement and cooking, gardening and sewing.
Mrs. Daugherty will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
On December 26, 1941, she married Anthony Leo Daugherty, who died June 6, 1977.
Surviving are three children, Dennis Daugherty and wife Janice of Arlington, Texas, Linda Cain and husband Raymond of Clarksville and Douglas Daugherty and wife Katrina of North Richland Hills, Texas; six grandchildren, Melinda Pendland, Tim Daugherty, Cindy Thomas, Karen Daugherty, Brian Daugherty and Megan Daugherty; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Helen Watson.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 14, in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, with the Rev. Richard E. Bowser officiating.
