Charles W. Townsend, 66, of Washington, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012, in his home.
He was born in Georgetown, Del., a son of Wallace P. and June Glanding Townsend.
He was a 1974 graduate of Georgetown High School.
He worked as a horse trainer for Steve LaBlanc and Robert Keep.
Mr. Townsend enjoyed horses, sports and collecting coins.
On October 7, 1989, he married the love of his life, Cynthia Tucker Townsend, who is deceased.
Surviving are his sister, Kathy (Russ) Cooper, and his brother, Pete (Cindy) Townsend, both of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; mother-in-law Virginia Tucker; close friends Robert and Karen Creek; four nieces; and three nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his wife, are his parents.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public services. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington. Condolences may be left at www.nicholfuneralhome.com.
