Shirley Ann Ely, 76, of Waynesburg, died Thursday, December 13, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born March 29, 1936, in Clarksville, a daughter of the late Russell and Iva Hicks Victor.

Mrs. Ely worked for 14 years for Greene County Community Action as a teacher’s aide. She also had worked for Eldercare and AMI in Waynesburg.

She was Baptist.

Mrs. Ely loved working with children and was committed to her family.

Surviving are nine children, Linda Thorne of Waynesburg, Johnny Bill Ely of Richland, Mo., James M. Ely (the late Timmie) of Waynesburg, Clarence Ely (Holly) of Waynesburg, Steven B. Ely of Washington, Roger M. Ely of Waynesburg, Scarlet E. Brock (Gary) of Spraggs, Scott A. Ely (Tricia) of Hulbert Field, Fla., and Beth Ann Pecjak (John) of Lippencott; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Isiminger of Bristoria and Alma Mitton of Alexandria, Va.; and a brother, Walter Victor of Apalachicola, Fla.

Deceased are a brother, Russell Boyd Victor Jr., and four sisters, Alice Hixenbaugh, Faye Bowen, Bonnie Minor and Phyllis Mullenaux.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the hour of services, Monday, December 17, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Craig Cross officiating, followed by burial in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
