Philip Scarsella

Philip Scarsella, 83, died Saturday, December 15, 2012.

He was a longtime resident of Peters Township, where many years were spent raising his family.

Mr. Scarsella was a graduate of Geneva College.

He retired from Washington Steel after 35 years.

Mr. Scarsella was previously married to Dorothy Scarsella, who survives.

Also surviving are children Philip J. (Judith) Scarsella of Cary, N.C., Paul J. (Linda L.) Scarsella of Bethel Park, Denise A. (Elbie) Yaworsky of Ambridge, Debra (Patsy) Pitzarella of North Strabane and Diana (Sgt. Maj. Randy) St. Cyr of Sumter, S.C.; sisters Helen Reindl of Kissimmee, Fla., and Mary Jane Monks and Rose “Roe” Stiffey, both of Midland; a brother, John A. Scarsella of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren Amy, Jennifer, Ashley, Sean, Michael, Eric, Matt, Andrew, Paul Jr., Jonathan, Joshua and Rebekah; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a friend, Mary Lou Long of Mt. Lebanon; and a friend, Bill.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, in St. Benedict the Abbot Church, 120 Abington Drive, McMurray. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
