Timothy H. Morris
Timothy H. Morris, 64, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, December 15, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington, with family and friends by his side.
He was born August 24, 1948, in Washington, a son of the late Alfred “Pete” and LaGene Day Morris.
Mr. Morris was a 1966 graduate of Washington High School and a graduate of Washington Hospital School of Nursing.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a medic in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Morris retired in July 2012 from Washington Hospital, where he was a registered nurse in the operating room for 40 years.
He was a member of the Elks in Washington and American Legion.
Mr. Morris loved music, dancing, wine making, traveling and entertaining family and friends.
On April 19, 1991, he married Debra L. Powell, who survives.
Also surviving are a brother, Rodney Morris of Washington; two uncles, Gary Morris (Penny) of Radcliff, Ky., and Leland T. Day (Susan) of North Carolina; an aunt, Marjorie Lease (Joel) of Washington; a brother-in-law, James D. Powell (Regina) of Washington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will be missed by many close friends.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, with the Rev. Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 and American Legion Post 902 combined honor guard.
