Leroy “Stanley” Burgess, 71, of Oscoda, Mich., succumbed to leukemia Wednesday, December 12, 2012, in Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oaks, Mich.
He was a 1959 graduate of Washington High School.
Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served in Vietnam. He received a medical discharge because of injuries he received in Vietnam.
Mr. Burgess was a computer analyst in Michigan.
He was the son of the late Lloyd and Viola Brim Burgess, formerly of Washington.
Surviving are his wife, Anna; three sons, Leroy Stanley (Hope) Burgess II, Harold R. Burgess and Christopher A. (Heather) Burgess, all of Michigan; two daughters, Melissa Robinson and Stephanie Green; five grandsons; two granddaughters; four sisters, Carolyn (Alfred) Smith of Colorado, Sandra (Clarence) Dudley of Canonsburg, Jean (Frederick) Anderson of Washington and Diana Burgess of Kent, Wash.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased is a sister, Vicky Miller.
There will be no public viewing, and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
